LG webOS Smart TV Setup
Universal Remote works with all LG Smart TVs running webOS from 2014 onwards.
How to Connect
- Connect your iPhone and LG TV to the same WiFi network
- Open Universal Remote — your LG TV is detected automatically
- Tap your LG TV to connect
- A connection prompt appears on your TV — press "Accept"
- You're connected with full Magic Remote-style control!
Enable LG Connect Apps
If your TV isn't being found, enable remote connections:
- On your LG TV, go to Settings → Network
- Turn on "LG Connect Apps"
- Restart your TV and try scanning again
Common Issues
TV not appearing in scan
- Make sure "LG Connect Apps" is enabled in TV network settings
- Check that both devices are on the same WiFi network
- Try restarting your LG TV completely (unplug for 10 seconds)
- Try entering the TV's IP address manually
Connection keeps dropping
- Check your WiFi signal strength — move closer to your router
- Update your LG TV firmware: Settings → All Settings → Support → Software Update
- Disable power saving mode which may disconnect WiFi when idle
